by the roadside

For the past couple of weeks, every time I drive somewhere, the roadside has been lined with gold. Have you noticed them? those bright yellow flowers on the side of the road? They have been calling me, waving in the wind, glowing in the sun & when I blur my eyes, all I can see is yellow. I usually have my camera in the car with me wherever I go but lately, time has not been on my side. I am always rushing to get somewhere or I have my baby & my dog in the car & it is too unsafe & I don't want them to sit in the car, so I have been waiting, waiting, waiting to go on an afternoon adventure cause for these beauties I needed to take the time to capture them  & to see them shine.

I got that chance on Monday afternoon & here they are.....by the roadside

  1. Love the pics. I am so into the crisp foreground and blurry background (or vice-versa!)Doesn't it feel wonderful to get out there by yourself and just snap away? Then the thrill of getting home, getting the images on the computer and discover you have some beauties! Love it!

  4. I really like this set of images. Love yellow so that helps but you've got some lovely selective focus and bokeh. I am in Kim's Essential class too.

  6. Hi Michelle these would have to be my favourite so far of your beautiful photos!! Thankyou for finding time to go back and photograph them to share with us all. Stunning! Gorgeous colour and light too - gosh I admire you amazing photographers!! Their shape and geometry is really interesting different to the yellow daisies I see down here. Might have to draw some of these in my sketchbook to remember them by. Also the second last photo reminds me of my childhood and Michael and I were just talking about these last weekend. As a little girl we used to pretend they were microphones as if we were on the radio haha!! You've reminded me that I have been wanting to start using these in some of my illustrations so thankyou! Love your work!!! Lxxx
