sometimes photos may represent more than what we see before us..that is the basis of the next exercise in my 'find your eye' journey. what can we find by looking at our images..i intuitively selected a photo that has stayed in my mind since i first saw the sand patterns & took the photograph.
time is precious. time is sweet. time is beauty. time is short
time is love. time is borrowed. time is stolen. time is gone
time is owed. time is ours. time is yours.
when i look at this sand washed away by endless waves of time. and i watch the waves roll in & out. i think of time..what does it mean. is it real. is it important. time is something man made. seconds. minutes. hours. days. months. years. past. present. future. time will see the sky turn from pink. to yellow. to orange. to white. to blue. to grey. to black. the cycle will repeat. over & over & over again. our lives defined by time. how much time we have to do this. or that. how much time is wasted. needed. wanted. how much time we have to live. to learn. to grow. will we learn all the lessons. will we do all the things we wish to. will we have all the time we need or hope for with those we love. time tells stories. so many to be told. in this image. on this beach. in this water. this sky. this land. in this time. if there was no time. we would only be left with life. and the stories that come from living.
time is the ocean
on the sands before me
time is nothing. life is everything.
i'm participating in 'Kat Eye Studio' find your eye series,
i'm loving it & can't recommend it enough!!

Dearest sweet Chelle, such a beautiful way to interpret this photo and link it with time. It's so true time is made man...and i always find myself fighting for more time to get more things done. I am loving your beautiful words and this really hit me loud and clear "time is nothing. life is everything." Thanks so much for being such an inspiration! Have a lovely merry happy week and love to you!
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful capture of the sea and the sand and also your words: "I think of time..what does it mean? Is it real?"
ReplyDeleteYour words ask questions and the answers weave themselves in an out of those same questions. Does time exist? When we realize that the only time that exists is NOW, then all time stands still... to enjoy what there is in the moment: the lapping of the waves now, the feel of the sand under our bare feet now.. this is the living in the timeless present where past and future fade away and we experience the present moment without the weight or thought of time!
Of course, clock time exists - when it's time to make a meal, go to bed, get up and all those things that need to be done, but when we do them it's still only ever now! Isn't it fun?
Your post meanders around in hidden depths and then comes right back up to the life you are living "in this time". Wonderful!
Chelle, your photo is beautiful. I love any type of water but the color of the water in your picture is awesome. I really had to stop and think about your words. As I get older, I truly try to live in the moment. We live in an age where most everyone spends time doing as much as they possibly can. So often we miss the most important moments because we are so busy rushing from thing to thing. I do think it is important to slow down and appreciate all of the small special moments that we experience each day and which make up our life.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for all of your thoughtful comments on my blog.
Chelle, your words are the most profound I've read when compared to a perfect photograph like the one you have taken and shared with us. As we see in the image how the sand merges into the sea and beyond, seemingly eternal, as time is. Without a watch, time becomes more special, causing one to live in the moment. A photo image catches that special "in the moment" so we can reflect and recall how we felt when we took it, and try to share that with others so they can "feel that moment" with us. This photo has done that for me.... it gives a feeling of being "in the moment eternally". I have found this to be an extra special photo with your extra special words with deep meaning, and I have truly enjoyed reading your post, and seeing your beautiful and perfect capture of nature, so special indeed. Awesome job! Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love the repetition... of the lines in the sand, your words in the text. What a powerful image they create together! I see the future, looking at those sands of time. And I am not worried or stressed about time passing, with your words. Thank you for doing this exercise. I can see many more intuitive photojournal posts in your future!
