A few weeks ago I went to check out a location for a wedding that I had been asked to take photos for. It was located in the national park which was really beautiful. I wasn't exactly sure whereabouts the bride & groom were going to be married & I was kind of nervous as it was my first time photographing an occasion like this, so I thought I should check out the surrounding area to see what it was like. As I entered the road down to the park I was really drawn to this amazing old tunnel, there was nothing really pretty about it, but it was interesting, quite industrial looking & i found beauty in its age. On my way back from the park I got out of the car to take some photos. I wasn't sure if it would be in the couples interest to have any photos there but I wanted to get some shots anyway cause I loved the contrast & textures it presented. I got a number of different shots which I love but this was the one I am drawn to for my march photo heart connection.
it is the journey. where beauty is found. its in the details. we gather along the way. some things stay with us. some are washed away. we see new life. we grow. we age. we get worn out. we are held together. and some parts not. there is light. and more beauty. to be found. as we continue on. through the journeys of our lives. the journey is colourful. with light & shade. and is to be celebrated. for what it is.

What a fascinating tunnel! I feel as if I'm inside a whale and his ribs are on the left... it's a long way to run to get out!
ReplyDeleteYes! It's the journey that matters. It is to be celebrated, for what it is, as you say. I love the light and dark in this photo. The curve of the wall, the portal at the end. There is much hope and beauty here. Who defines pretty anyway? Thank you for sharing this Photo-Heart Connection. I hope the photo shoot turned out well!
ReplyDeleteIt took me a second to realize what is was a picture of and then I hit my head and said duh! lol I really like the perspective you got on this and yes, in the end it is the journey that matters! Thanks for sharing this with us!
ReplyDeleteThe light at the end of the tunnel, how appropriate when discussing taking a journey. I love that you wandered and found this image, thank you for sharing.
