slowing down

From the moment I took this photograph I loved everything about it. The light so bright, filtering down onto something so beautiful. Normally I process my images slightly but I chose not to do anything to this one. Partly, because I think it is just right as it is & partly because it also relates to my photo heart connection this month. I have been feeling a little crazed lately, which you can read about in my previous post. When I was on holiday in Bali recently I made a decision to slow things down a little. This image reminds me of that, for lots of reasons. It is simple. Normally, I would have taken alot of images of this one flower, but this time I only took two. Its been nice to take more time to appreciate the image as I take it & also to spend less time processing. It creates more time to enjoy my loves & my life. Part of my craziness was rushing through all the things I had to get done, I think part of slowing down is to try to simplify the things we do. This image just fits!

  2. Ah yes, slowing down and simplifying things, what sound advice indeed! I like the way you've connected these words with the simplicity of the sunlit flower. Taking time to appreciate the tiniest things which makes time standstill. Wonderful, Chelle, a lovely heart connection! Sandra

  3. Slowing down-sometimes one must just "sit" with things for a bit and slowing down helps that I think. Your image is beautiful SOOC. I love the light. Light is for me one of life's most enchanting wonders.

  6. when i think of slowing down i think of being in the moment, trusting that it is perfect the way it is and knowing that the next moment will present itself and then the next.

  7. The light is amazing in this photo. I also love the different levels to the flower - slowing down seems necessary when you have so many levels to climb in your life. I am so happy that your vacation was so lovely. xoxo Lori

Thanks for a reminder that simplicity can be the best thing for us! I'm glad to have you in the Photo-Heart Connection.

  11. I love this beautiful light filled shot...its stunning!! These days it almost goes against the grain to slow down and only take one or two shots! Its really inspiring to see that you are simplifying the process, taking time to appreciate the image, and that things don't have to be complicated or involve tons of post processing. xo
